just to let you know, I will not be needing a wheel build or nipples or anything, I happened to have some brass nipples laying around and my LBS will do the truing/tensioning for free, seeing as the nipple problem should not have happened. Thank you for all your help.
Its probably safer if you don't do too much under the table stuff anyways.
Have a good one.

ok awesome, I will see what the mechanic here has to say about it, maybe he will replace it for free, I doubt it though. IF not I will probably bring it to you.
Thanks for you help

djman22 wrote
Apr 6, 2009 at 21:05
ha ha, I like the way you think, is that 30 total plus parts? or per wheel?

zwak wrote
Apr 6, 2009 at 15:28
Alright, I'd like to not have to pay as I know how to repack the hubs and everything. I've been a mech/builder at Woodcock the past year or two so I know my way around bikes. I've been told its just a characteristic of King hubs, and its not a big deal. I think I'll just repack it and check for wear and tear, as long as I don't notice anything thats actually wrong I don't think I'll bring it anywhere.

zwak wrote
Apr 6, 2009 at 14:48
Alright, thanks. Any idea how much a service for it would cost?

zwak wrote
Apr 5, 2009 at 19:57
Nope, no brake on the hub. Its something to do with the hub for sure.

zwak wrote
Apr 5, 2009 at 13:08
Hey, I know you King hubs pretty well and I have a question. My front seems to drag way too much. I took it apart and checked it out, cleaned out the grit that was on top of the snap washer and popped it off. Bearings looked alright to me, nothing seems to be wrong with it really. Put it all back together, same thing. Wheel just doesn't roll as long as I think it should. Any idea? Is it something I should worry about? For servicing I know it says I should use ringlube, is it necessary? Thanks.

Hey man, i was wondering, is it hard to learn to build a wheel? I'm preety damn sure i could learn quickly. I'd love to be able to build my own wheels, it would save me lots of money and would be fun aswell.
